About the Instructor

Teri Thomas is a licensed massage therapist (LMT) in the state of Utah, a business owner, and a nationally recognized educator in lymphatic drainage therapy. She is the mother of three children and a grandmother. Teri has owned and operated massage spas since 2015, building a strong foundation in therapeutic and clinical massage practices.

She is a practicing therapist and an NCBTMB-approved continuing education provider who has taught Level 1 and Level 2 Lymphatic Drainage for several years, including at a massage school. Her training is rooted in VODDER-based principles and informed by advanced post-surgical education from multiple clinical programs across the U.S. These experiences, combined with years of hands-on practice, have shaped her clinical approach and course structure. 

Her Journey Started: 

In 2020, following her own plastic surgery, Teri experienced firsthand the difficulty of accessing qualified practitioners trained in post-surgical manual lymphatic drainage. This experience became a turning point in her professional path. After her recovery, she pursued advanced certification in lymphatic drainage and post-surgical lymphatic drainage therapy.

In 2021, Teri founded The Lymphatic Care Center, which specializes in post-surgical lymphatic drainage and massage. The center was recognized as one of the Top Three Best of Salt Lake in 2023, reflecting its commitment to quality care and clinical excellence.

Building on her clinical expertise and passion for education, Teri established the Lymphatic Drainage Training Academy, offering structured coursework designed specifically for licensed massage therapists and healthcare professionals. She is an approved continuing education provider through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and teaches Lymphatic Drainage Massage Level 1, Lymphatic Drainage Massage Level 2 (Post-Surgical), and Fibrosis Treatment After Surgery.

All courses are taught live, with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning, clinical application, and professional competency. Through the Lymphatic Drainage Training Academy, Teri travels throughout the United States (excluding New York) to provide in-person training to licensed professionals seeking advanced education in lymphatic drainage therapy.
